Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker/Machinist for a direct hire position. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting precision tools and machining parts to exact specifications. This role demands a high level of skill in manual machining, as well as proficiency with CNC machines. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and a commitment to precision and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, fixtures, and molds.
  • Operate a variety of machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce custom parts.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Perform precise measurements and inspections to ensure accurate fit and function of machined components.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and optimize tooling and machining processes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Manage tool inventory, including maintenance and repair logs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker/Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and tools.
  • Ability to operate and program CNC machines is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in toolmaking/machining preferred.
